Artist Help:Add/Edit Profile
Before creating a new template, check with the ShowCAD Web Site that a template is not already available for the fixture.
Make sure you have accurate information regarding the channel layout of your fixture, including the parameter levels for such things as colour and gobos. It is recommended that you have full technical details, including such things as angular movement. Artist cannot control your fixture correctly if the template is inaccurate or incomplete. Programming is simplified by it knowing as much as possible about the fixtures connected to it.
If you are adding a new template it is recommended that you put them in a new file of your own.
To create a new template file[edit]
from the Main Menu bar select File/New/Template File
if a template file is currently loaded you will be asked if you want to close it. Click OK.
This will add a new tab to the client area called Templates. A group called "Template Group 1" has already been created. You can rename this as you please.
To create your new template[edit]
from the Main Menu select Wizards/Template Wizard. This will launch the template wizard which will take you through the process. Using the Template Wizard ensures that the the template you create conforms the ShowCAD's conventions regarding layout and size and is therefore the recommended method.
To edit a template[edit]
Right-click on the template and select 'Edit Template'. This will open the template wizard with the settings of the template which you can then alter.
