This is a Control Panel that either fits a spare drive bay in the computer of a standard wall mounted electrical box. It provides a backlit LCD menu display and various simple function buttons.

There may be variations in the panel layout but the functionality is much the same.

Setting up The COM ports are shown in Resources/Communication Manager. Right-click on the desired COM port and select Properties.

You should set the following values:

Baud rate 19200 Parity N Data bits 8 Stop bits 1

In addition ensure that the Input Enable box is checked and select one of the following input modes.

MCP2 Mode 1 When Artist is first booted the display is in Cue List mode. Press the X button to display the menu as follows,

Mode Mnemonic Description Cue List CLT The left and right arrows select a Cue List The up and down arrows select a cue within the selected list The O button activates/deactivates the selected cue. The X button returns to the Mode menu

Workspace WSP The left, right, up and down arrows select a workspace The O button loads the selected workspace The X button returns to the Mode menu

Real time events RTC The left, right, up and down arrows select a Real Time event file. The O button loads the select Real Time event file. The X Button returns to the Mode menu.

MIDI time events MTC The left, right, up and down arrows select a MIDl Time event file. The O button loads the select MIDI Time event file. The X Button returns to the Mode menu.

MCP2 Mode 2 In this mode the panel displays on the content of only one list and the cue list master level. When Artist is first booted the panel will be assigned a cue list based on the Com port number. So if the panel is connected to COM1 then it will be assigned to Cue List 1. In this way many panels can be connected to Artist and each have different cues available to them.

The panel buttons then have the following functions:

Left arrow display the previous cue Right arrow displays the next cue Up arrow increments the cue list level Down arrow decrements the cue list level X button clear all active cues in the list O button activates/deactivates the currently displayed cue

Active cues are indicates by an asterisk to the left of the cue name.
