This is where you connect to the Advantech data acquisition devices to provide digital inputs to Artist. These Digital Input Ports are 8 bits in size. === To Add Digital Inputs === * Right-click on Resources/Input Output Patch/Digital Inputs * select Properties. * Set the number of 8 bit Digital Input ports you want to add * Click OK. These will now appear under the Digital Inputs branch. This Digital Input port is not yet connected to any physical inputs but can be tested by using the Manual test dialog. === To Connect === * Right-click on any of the Digital Inputs ports you created in the previous section * Select Properties * Select the Advantech Interface node your require. * Select the digital port - this is an 8 bit port * Click OK This input port is now connected to the Advantech interface device you selected. === To Test === * Right-click on the Digital input port * Select Manual Test This dialog is not modal and can therefore remain open which you use other Artist functions. The buttons are shown in RED if the responding input is set. Checking the Override Test box allows you set the inputs values manually by clicking on the button.
